Bekem Metals Inc. has two projects: Kempirsai project of nickel, cobalt and coal extraction in the Northwest and Gornostai project of nickel and cobalt in the Northeast regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

Kempirsai project

Kempirsai project consists of Kempirsai nickel and cobalt deposit and Mamyt brown coal deposit.

The Kempirsai deposit is located in the Khromtausky region of northwestern Kazakhstan, approximately 130 kilometers northeast of Aktobe, Kazakhstan. The nickel and cobalt deposits are located approximately 35 kilometers south of Badamsha village, Aktobe region, Kazakhstan and the brown coal deposit is located approximately 30 kilometers east of Badamsha village, Aktobe region, Kazakhstan. The Aktyubinsk-Karabutak asphalt highway runs within 14 kilometers to the south of the nickel and cobalt deposit. The nickel, cobalt and brown coal deposits can be accessed through a network of country roads. The Orsk-Kanadagash state railway runs nearby the Kempirsai deposit and, through our subsidiary KKM, we own 55 kilometers of our own railway. Our railway connects the Kempirsai deposit to a reloading station and to a Russian railway.

Gornostai project

The Gornostai project is represented by the Gornostai nickel and cobalt deposit.

The Gornostai deposit is located in the Beskaragaiskiy region of northeastern Kazakhstan, approximately 110 kilometers west of Semey, Kazakhstan and 30 kilometers east of Kurchatov, Kazakhstan. The Gornostai deposit is divided into the South and North sections by the navigable Irtysh River. The Gornostai deposit may be accessed by an asphalt highway that crosses the northern part of the South section of the deposit. The Semey-Astana railway also passes through the northern part of the South section of the deposit.
